St.Haštal Church and Convent of st. Agnes

Romantic quarter without tourists you can find just 5 minutes walking from the overcrowded Old Town Square.

Haštal square with gothic st. Haštal church from 13. century is in the middle of quarter. Church is very unusual because it has only two naves. Square is surrounded by narrow streets. I suggest to visit Anežská street and Řásnovka street.

Close to the square, there is probably the narrowest house in the Czech republic, number 2 and 4 in Anežská street. In Anežská street there you can visit Convent of st. Agnes, gothic convent from 13. century (Exhibitions and admission).

In the Old Town there is most of buildings with brand new plaster, but houses around Haštal square looks like in the Communist era, when no one took care about buildings in the Centre.
  • How to get there: 5 min walking from Náměstí republiky (metro B)
  • Interesting places: Haštal church, Convent of st. Agnes, narrowest house in Czech
  • Tourist density: Low
  • Map: Haštal square on google maps
